Went to LTC to essentially, rest, revise and kayak. Think my skin is very think for i had little trouble from the common bloodsucker aka mosquitoes. Didn't do very much thereand most of the time was spent playing bridge and big two but i thinkit was a great way to spend(waste) time. Better than not doing anything at home, or better than squeezing with the ever present crowds in town. And especially good to help me forget that im in NS. The power of the long weekends. Why they are so valuable. They allow us to do things that normal weekends don't, and going to LTC is one of them. Is quintessential that army boys get to escape from reality once in a while of they will surely be driven nuts. Some take to the drink which proves to be very popular,as many attempt to get themselves mabok (drunk) every week. but its just not my way. So what am i saying? Honestly i don't know. Just rambling cos i feel like typing and i did. so there.

Today's StraitsTimes features on the third page in a half-page article complete with huge photo of the late President Wee's dog. Oh wow. I'm so concerned to how the canine (named He Ping)is doing. If the news is ranked by the most important on the front page and subsequent pages the less important ones, that would put the dog story above "Tussle over brain-damaged woman", , "Can 24-hr marts thrive in Singapore", "Fed up with flag days", "Tremors felt, but no injuries", "Casino mongul: Too much control" etc.. Its my opinion that "He Ping pines for master Wee Kim Wee" does not constitute to big news, let alone news at all... Ah well, not like there are other English full newspapers to choose from.


On another note, a quote from an article on A*Star scholars on page 11.

Ms Chng, 23, who has received an A*Star scholarship, is waiting to attend Harvard Medical School this year.

She said:" It's quite obvious that female scholars are more aggressive, Type-A, go-getting types, while the males are soft-spoken and tend to be easily bullied by females."

To her, Singapore males are fine until they go into the military for national service.

"Once they enter NS, they complain a lot. I didn't know guys could talk about the most minute things."

Oh i'm sure she made a lot of male fiends with that statement. Lots of powerful A*Star scholar friends. Who held, are holding and will hold high positions in the public and private sector. Good luck to her.

Paintball has rules, a scoring system, referees, leagues and international tournaments. It is a combination of tag, hide and seek, and human chess. The sport of Paintball is a non-contact, action-packed, physical and mental activity and is the most fun you will ever experience.

Paintball teaches co-operation, teamwork and friendly competition. Unlike other sports, violence has no place in the game of paintball.

Paintball has a positive influence on the community, the family and the work place. Paintball is hailed as one of the most effective forms of stress release and is used extensively in the USA and Europe for corporate situations to boost teamwork, self-confidence and control stress. A game costs $300 for 8 – 10 players. Additional players are at $35 each. Cost is inclusive of equipment rental and you get 40 paintballs per player.

Additional 20 paintballs are available at $10 per person or 40 paintballs at $15 per person.
$100 deposit payable prior to game.

The group will have the field for approximately one and a half hours. The group can play as many games within the allocated time and the number of paintballs remaining.
